The Grove is a private 1200 acre Golf Community with full amenities, located in College Grove Tn.  The HOA Grounds Dept. is responsible for the outdoor amenities such as pool areas, lawns, parks, trails and entry areas.

Scope of Work:
The Irrigation/Lighting Tech will work with the HOA Supervisor and be responsible for daily irrigation checks, operations, repairs, lighting checks and repairs, pump house maintenance, also installation of any upgrades to any existing systems. The Tech must be self-motivated and have good communication skills.

Previous irrigation experience with pipe repairs, controller operation, diagnosing/problem solving, and basic computer skills are a must.

$13.00 to $15.00/hr. based on experience

The Role
Buy Sod, Inc. seeks an ambitious Assistant Farm Manager to join our team at the Nashville Farm. The Nashville farm has locations in Eagleville and Ashland City.

In this role, you will be tasked with production/harvesting and logistical planning and execution all aspects of the production/harvesting of turf grass. You will assist and communicate daily with the Farm Manager to ensure that quality sod is ready for sale. Logical planning and flexibility to deal with changing conditions is required, as you will be making decisions on mowing, fertilizing, spraying, and irrigation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the raising of turfgrass to a mature, harvestable product by performing tasks of fertilizing, spraying, irrigating, and directing the mower operator.
  • Collaborate and execute fertility and soil amendment applications
  • Manage inventory and procure seed, chemicals, and fertilizer as needed
  • Provide up-to-date weekly reports on turf conditions and crop progress to management
  • Establish maintenance schedules for equipment and oversee inventory management system.


  • Minimum 1-2 years, golf course, landscape maintenance, farming, agricultural services agronomy or other turf care experience
  • Applicators License a Plus but not required for initial employment
  • Demonstrated decision making ability in turf or similar cropping
  • Demonstrated customer service experience
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Associates degree or higher, preferably in Turf, Crop and Soil Sciences, Agriculture or related fields
  • Strong math skills

Job Overview:   Gaylord Springs Golf Links is a resort course located in Nashville, TN. The course is a Scottish links-style and is considered an attraction of the Opryland Hotel and Convention center. Gaylord Springs was host to a Champions Tour event for 10 years and is rated as one of the top public courses in Tennessee. Gaylord Springs Golf Links is currently seeking a Lead Mechanic/Equipment Manager to oversee the course maintenance equipment fleet. This individual will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of all golf course maintenance equipment. This includes gas and diesel equipment ranging from string trimmers to large diesel mowers and tractors. This is a full time year round position.

Responsibilities Include:

  • ·         Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair all golf course maintenance equipment

Job Description: Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club is looking for a candidate to successfully assist in day to day operations at a private 18 hole country club in the transition zone.  Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club will be renovating Fairways and Green surrounds this summer to Latitude 36 Bermuda grass as well as expanding the existing irrigation system.

Qualified candidates will be a self-starter and self-motivated individual that can lead by example. 1 to 2 years of Golf Course experience in a managerial role is preferred. Able to obtain a Tennessee pesticide license within two months of employment.
Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited too:

  • As directed, management of day to day responsibilities of the golf course crew and proper training of new employees
  • Assist in the application of fertilizer and chemical applications and recordings of chemical applications
  • Knowledge of bentgrass management in the transition zone
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work well under pressure while coordinating multiple projects and renovations

  • Must have the ability to identify and trouble shoot irrigation issues

Course Information: Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club is a private member owned facility operated by Club Corp. Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club was built in 1951 and designed by Robert Bruce Harris. February 2017 we will begin the first phase of our renovation to convert single row to double row system. We will begin drainage, shaping and sprigging fairways, and converting green surrounds to Latitude 36 Bermuda grass beginning in June 2017.

Assistant Superintendent Position

Educational Requirements:

Graduate of a 2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred but not required if previous golf course work experience is extensive.

Experience Requirements:

The right candidate must have 2 years golf course experience or multiple valuable internships. Know how to calibrate sprayers and spreaders. Ability to train, supervise and manage crew members. Knowledge of irrigation repair and maintenance.

Special Requirements:

Performs duties assigned by Golf Course Superintendent. Communicates course conditions to Pro Shop. Assist in chemical and fertilizer applications.  Responsible for greens moisture management.  Ability to ID Turf pests and disease.  Oversees cleanup and storage of equipment and tools at end of shift.  Must have or be able to attain TN Certified Pesticide License within 90 days.

Previous experience with Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens management experience a plus but not required.

Purpose of Job

Assist the Crew Chief by being responsible for repairing and maintaining safe playing surfaces and its surrounding components for baseball, softball, football and multipurpose fields by performing daily turf, dirt and water management; timely fertility and cultural practices; game preparation techniques and short and long-term maintenance planning.  Responsibilities also include 10- disc golf course, basketball courts and tennis courts.

Must be able to work holidays, weekends and nights during sporting/special events.

Essential Job Duties 

Turf maintenance  

  • Properly manages and maintains turf on all athletic fields within the Parks and Recreation Department grounds.
  • Mows, trims, edges, fertilizes, sods, aerates, and irrigates turf using commercial grade equipment.
  • Maintains, repairs and installs irrigation systems on athletic fields. Assist in controlling the entire irrigation system that includes, but is not limited to, proper water management of the playing surface and outside landscape, periodic maintenance checks, repairing of leaking lines or valves, and winterization.
  • ·         Paints outfield foul lines, numbers, and logos on all athletic fields.
  • Performs general maintenance as necessary to keep machinery, equipment and tools in operable condition.
  • Performs top-dressing of fields: to include aerating, verticutting, vacuuming and topdressing fields with fine sand.
  • Performs special projects on turf as needed during off-season.

 Infield maintenance

  • Properly maintains infields on all athletic fields within the Parks and Recreation Department grounds.
  • Drags, rakes, conditions, and replenishes materials as needed to maintain infields.
  • Prepares fields for games by grooming field, chalking base path foul lines and marking coaching boxes.
  • Builds and maintains all bases, mounds and other field necessities.
  • Responsible for coordination and execution of infield tarps on daily basis and during tournaments.
  • Responsible for upkeep of all warning track material on the infields.
  • Performs general maintenance as necessary to keep machinery, equipment and tools in operable condition.
  • Performs special projects on infield as needed during off-season.


Education and Experience: The required knowledge, skill, and abilities to satisfactorily perform job duties are normally acquired through obtaining an associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to two year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in turfgrass management. 

Required Certifications/Licenses:

A Tennessee Department of Agriculture Certified Pesticide Applicators License for C03 is required for this job. (Must be obtained within 6 months)

TN Driver’s License, CPR Certification (Must be obtained within 6 months)
