    Assistant Superintendent Position

    Lakewood is currently looking to fill the Assistant Superintendent position. Lakewood is a private, member owned, country club. The Club consists of an 18 hole golf course, driving range, and short game practice area, 4 hard court tennis courts and a pool.

    The golf course consists of bentgrass greens, a mix of 419 and common tees, fairways and roughs, with a few zoysia tees.

    Applicants should be career driven, motivated, have a high attention for detail, have a strong desire to learn, and be a team player.

    The assistant will be involved in all areas of the maintenance operation.

    2 year or 4 year degree preferred but not necessary.

    The position is a salary position. Range is 30-35k per year with vacation and sick days, association dues paid, as well as uniforms.

    Hillwood Country ClubAssistant Equipment Technician

    The Assistant Equipment Technician/Manager, under the supervision of the Superintendent and Equipment Manager, will assist in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of all golf course maintenance equipment.

    • Knowledge of and ability to use common mechanical tools.
    • Must be able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as adapt to new ideas and techniques.
    • Reliable and predictable attendance is a must.

    Educational Requirements

    • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent

    Experience Requirements

    • Experience in small engine repair a plus. Willing to train any candidate who is motivated and desired learning a trade.

    Job Summary:
    Responsibly for assisting in maintaining Temple Hills to highest standards.  Assist in daily planning , crew training and development of staff.   

    Must have on hand experience as this position requires both supervision and actually performing daily task. The ability to multi task. 

    Weekend work is required.  Must pass a Background check.

    Mineral Mound State Park Golf Course, Eddyville, Kentucky

    Mineral Mound State Park Golf Course is located on the shores of Lake Barkley in Western Kentucky near Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.   This 18 hole Michael Hurdzan designed course features L-93 bentgrass greens with Tifway II bermudagrass tees, fairways and rough.  Upcoming renovation plans include conversion to Ultradwarf bermudagrass greens and Better Billy Bunkers (June 2019).   More info can be found at:  https://parks.ky.gov/golf/courses/mineral-mound/

    Educational Requirements
    Post secondary education, vocational or technical training in turf management, agronomy, horticulture or related field will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

    Experience Requirements
    Must have two years experience working in the field of golf course maintenance or turf management.

    Special Requirements
    Supervises, trains and assists a group of maintenance personnel in the performance of routine care and maintenance work for an 18 golf course under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent II. Assigns and supervises mowing of all turf areas, and the performing of all agronomic practices required to manage a golf course. Inspects machinery and equipment to determine their operating condition and repair needs. Purchases supplies for the park and golf course. Performs public relations functions.     Job Summary:

    The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position is responsible for assisting the superintendent in activities related to the care and maintenance of the golf course.  Under the Superintendent’s supervision, the Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths; supervises the maintenance staff and training of golf course maintenance personnel.  The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Superintendent’s capacity during his absence.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Assists with the maintenance and cleanliness of equipment repair areas, equipment storage areas, chemical and fertilizer storage areas.

    • Trains and educates the staff on golf course maintenance practices while checking the quality of the work behind them.
    • Maintains accurate records pertaining to golf course activities, course maintenance, equipment repair, fertilizer and chemical applications and pest control practices.
    • Communicates with pro shop staff, receives bids, and researches new cultural techniques in golf course maintenance.
    • Serves as back up to the Superintendent.

    • Minimum 2 year’s experience as a 2nd Assistant or Assistant in Training
    • TN State Driver’s License

    Westhaven Golf Club is an 18 hole private golf club located in Franklin, TN just south of Nashville. We are looking for a hard working, self-motivated individual to join our team as an assistant-in-training. The golf club opened for play in 2010 is part of the fast growing Westhaven community! We have bentgrass greens, Zorro zoysia collars and fairways, and Bermuda tees and fairways. The assistant in training will be involved with all aspects of course maintenance. 

    Educational Requirements
    2 or 4 year degree in Turfgrass management or related field preferred

    Experience Requirements
    1 to 3 years golf course experience but willing to work with the right individual

    Special Requirements
    This position will be required to work every other weekend. During the summer months weekend duties will include hand watering greens in the afternoon. Must be able to pass a drug test.

    Windyke Country Club has three golf courses situated on a 385 acre property located in southeast Shelby County. Two of these courses are championship quality and length hosting all levels of competitive tournaments and events. The third 18 hole course is an all par 3 short course designed for the beginner golfer or the player who wants to sharpen their skills. All three courses are predominantly 419 Bermuda grass on tees and fairways with Zoysia incorporated in shade and border areas. The championship courses are regionally known for their exceptional putting surfaces. Both courses have USGA specified constructed greens complexes and Champion Dwarf Bermuda grass putting surfaces.

    The position of Assistant Superintendent at Windyke Country Club is described as someone who works closely with the Superintendent to maintain and improve the club property with a special emphasis on golf. The right candidate will exhibit positive leadership skills and have a willingness to learn. The position requires involvement in all aspects of facility maintenance including but not limited to: moisture management, disease management, fertilizer/chemical applications, irrigation repairs, daily course setup, staff training, supervision, project development and implementation, and other duties assigned. The Assistant must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a TN Pesticide Applicator License.
