    Memphis National Golf Club is currently seeking a 1st Assistant Superintendent.  The club is a 36-hole facility with over 700 members and is located in Collierville, TN.  Both courses have Champion Bermuda greens, however the layouts are completely different.  Champions course is a continuous 18-hole layout that offers tree lined fairways and smaller greens, while the Legends course is more open, but still demanding off the tee with larger greens.  The two courses offer members different challenges and experiences each time out.  In 2017 the club completed a capital improvement project, which included a complete re-design and renovation of bunkers.  Several drainage projects were also completed, which enhanced the design and playability of several holes.  The club has local owners who are committed to improving the property each day in order to remain successful in the Memphis Golf Market.   

    The 1st Assistant must be a motivated individual with a strong passion for the golf business.  As a key member of the maintenance team, the assistant reports directly to the superintendent and oversees daily operations and agronomic practices each day.  A strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively are critical for this position. 


    • Must be a motivated individual with a strong attention to detail
    • Ability to calibrate and operate all types of pesticide and fertilizer spreaders and sprayers
    • Must be able to effectively train and motivate the staff in order to complete weekly goals
    • Able to trouble shoot and repair irrigation problems
    • Previous experience with ultradwarf Bermuda greens

    Position Responsibilities

    • Manage the crew daily
    • Execute all fertilizer and spray applications correctly
    • Prioritize effectively in order to maintain consistent playing conditions
    • Motivate and train the staff to achieve weekly goals
    • Effectively communicate and work with the superintendent to provide the best playing conditions available to the membership

    The purpose of this position is to meet the needs of our customers as they relate to products that are offered by the Golf & Grounds Group and Landscape Products Group of our company. This person is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, light installation, and programming of these products, as well as, customer training and maintaining excellent relations.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Position: Assistant Superintendent

    Richland Country Club is in search for someone that is hard working, determined to succeed, and eager to advance their career in the golf course industry. This person should have great communication skills and the ability to lead a team of hardworking employees.

    The individual will be required to assist the superintendent in the daily preparation of the golf course. Applying agronomic strategies with detail to maintenance, fertilizers, and spray schedules will also be required for the position. The candidate should possess an associate’s or bachelor’s degree and have at least two years of experience.

    2nd Assistant Superintendent

    Five Oaks Golf and Country Club is in search of a motivated and hard-working individual who is looking to advance themselves in the golf course industry to fill our 2ndAssistant position.  Must be able to communicate and work well in a team environment. 

    The right candidate will work along side the Superintendent and 1stAssistant daily in all aspects of golf course maintenance.  Five Oaks has come under new ownership in the last 30 days and with that comes many new ideas and course improvement projects.   They have approved a few course improvements that we will begin over the winter months. 

    Some experience with spraying, irrigation/drainage, course setup is preferred but not required.  But eye for detail is a must.

    Equipment Manager/Mechanic

    The responsibility of the Mechanic is to assist in maintaining the excellent playing condition of the golf course. The Mechanic will perform major and minor mechanical repairs on a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment under the general direction of the Superintendent.

    Experience Requirements

    • 1-3 years Mechanic experience
    • Knowledge of small engine repair
    • Experience in golf course equipment repair but not required

    Assistant Equipment Technician
    Tennessee National Golf Club

    General Purpose:

    Performs a variety of mechanical repairs, maintenance work, and equipment servicing of motorized equipment.

    Essential Duties:

    • Overhauls and repairs maintenance vehicles, mowing equipment and other power equipment.
    • Lubricates and services all equipment.
    • Inspects equipment for operating deficiencies and makes routine adjustments where necessary.
    • Maintains up-to-date understanding of hydraulic systems, repairs and their components.
    • Inspects, changes and repairs tires.
    • Assists in controlling tool access and use by maintenance staff.
    • Cleans working areas after repair work is completed.
    • Assists in fabricating, body repair and painting.

    Educational Requirements

    Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.

    Physical Demands:

    Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls. Occasionally sits, climbs or balances. Regularly talks or hears. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to100 pounds.


    Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); may experience vibration. Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens. Frequently works in areas near moving mechanical parts.
